55 New EV Fast Charging Stations Have Been Installed at 25 Locations in Northern California (From Monterey to Lake Tahoe)

A collaborative effort between the New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO) (Japan’s largest public R&D management organization), and the State of California’s Governor’s Office of Business and Economic Development, in partnership with Nissan Motor Co., Nissan North America, Kanematsu and EVgo, DRIVETHEARC encourages longer and more frequent trips with EVs by increasing the ease of long distance travel along one of California’s most frequented travel routes.

Nissan and Kanematsu to encourage longer distance EV travel in California

YOKOHAMA/TOKYO, Japan (March 4, 2015) — Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. and the Japan-based trading company, Kanematsu Corporation, will work with the New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO), Japan’s largest public R&D management organization, to encourage the use of electric vehicles for longer-distance driving in Northern California. As the project’s research coordinator, Nissan will organize the project and compile preliminary results together with Kanematsu up to the end of June 2015. The results will then be used in the project’s validation efforts.
