NEDO and the U.S. Department of Energy’s Fuel Cell Technologies Office (FCTO) within the Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy announce a collaboration on hydrogen and fuel cell data sharing of safety research and development to accelerate progress towards mutual goals, including energy security, resilience, and economic growth.
NEDO and DOE will collaborate to collect and share data regarding basic R&D and safety of hydrogen and fuel cells, for example information about safety and efficiency of hydrogen fueling stations and data of the fundamental researches on the hydrogen safety. Both NEDO and DOE will work to apply such data for guiding future research and enabling the safe deployment of Fuel Cells and hydrogen infrastructure, including hydrogen fueling stations. In addition, NEDO and FCTO will plan to hold a joint workshop on hydrogen in the coming months. This agreement was announced by the US DOE on the same day.
