Japan successfully launched its next-generation weather satellite atop an H2A carrier rocket and sent it into initial orbit as scheduled on Tuesday.

The rocket lifted off at 2:16 PM with a roar from the launch pad at the Tanegashima Space Center in southern Japan.

This product, on top of being the industry’s smallest cylindrical shaped rechargeable Lithium Ion battery, features the high reliability and high output required for near-field communications (NFC). Mass production and shipping are planned to begin in February, 2015 with a monthly production of one hundred thousand units.

(MHPS), has been contracted by Ministry of the Environment to develop the technology for a concentrating solar power (CSP) system as one of its 2014 projects to develop and verify technologies for enhancing measures to reduce carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions.
